Just note that social networking like Blog Catalog, Digg, Del etc are not a magic bullet to get page rank even though people are reading your blog they aren't definitely going to link to it, you need to make friends that are interested in your interests and as you post hopefully they will read, and maybe link back.

The magic bullet for gaining page rank, readers and traffic is to have great content; in this way if you have excellent content people will naturally want to tell their friends then some will link to you.
